Peace

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

A quick Christmas card to share slowly gathering momentum to get mine done before November this year.  How are yours coming along.  I still have about 80 more to do!

Today's card is made using the last Christmas release from Sheena Douglass.

Step by Step

1. A5 white card turned on its side to create a landscape card.
2. First layer is blue mirri card.
3. I embossed using Vellum with the Frosty Ice Border embossing Folder, I then stamped Peace and embossed with white embossing powder, coloured the back with blue pen.
4. I then matted and layered onto blue mirri card and adhered with silver and blue brads.
5. This was then matted and layered onto white pearlescent card and attached to the first layer.
6. To finish off I stamped the dove and embossed with white embossing powder onto vellum and cut out, adhered one wing and shaped to give dimension.

Altered Coffee Jar

Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

A quick post this morning as off to see my granddaughters.

If you saw my blog post on Monday you will see I have been having a bit of a change from cards.

Today I bring you an altered coffee jar!
I have to thank Kathryn Halstead for her inspiration with this project.

Step by Step

1. I gave the jar and lid a coat of PVA glue to start with.
2. I embossed paper using Embossalicious Regal Flourish, tore them up and decopatched them onto both the jar and lid. I then gave it a coat of Black Gesso.
3. I then arranged all my embellishments which consisted of metal, wood, paper, lace, pearls to the jar and lid. I then  gave the jar and lid 2 coats of black gesso, letting each coat dry first.
4. Once dry using a dry brush and white paint gently with the flat of the brush dusted over the areas where no embellishments where, this highlighted the embossed/torn paper, I think it looks like slate.
5. To finish off I went over the bird cages, pearl trim on jar and lid, all metal embellishments with Pebeo Studio Iridescent Copper and the flowers with Iridescent Red Blue.

Create a Canvas

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

How are you all doing?

Both parents are well and it was lovely to see them.

Today is a canvas I created at the weekend.

1. 8 x 8 square canvas, I gave a coat of white Gesso, once dry painted a coat of PVA glue
2. I embossed a piece of card and adhered to the canvas.
3. I then gave it a coat of brown acrylic paint and left to dry. Then dry brushed Pebeo Iridescent paint across the embossed card.
4. I cut out the picture and adhered with foam pads for dimension, then arranged my embellishments around the image, added 2 corners and an old dangle earring was placed in her ear with a brad.
