Lynda's Piano

Good Morning my friends

This is my first blog today, sorry I didn't get a chance to post another card yesterday but I was really busy doing some samples.  Still have more to do today so fingers crossed I will be able to show you what I have made later if not then it will be tomorrow.

The base card is 8 x 8 white pearlescent card.  I have used pale blue card with silver spots on from my stash.  The second layer is very pale lilac with swirls before matting this down I have added pale blue lace across the lower half of the card.  The topper has been cut out using my Spellbinder oval nesties after I had printed off my digi stamp which is called Lynda's Piano from Elphine House Australia done by the artist Elisabeth Bell.  I coloured this in using watercolour pencils and Sakura glitter pens and chalks.  I distressed the edges using Dew Drops Brilliance in Lavender ink.  I added the pearls to the four corners and the flower and sentiments are from my crafty stash.

Blooming Wonderful

Good morning my crafting friends

Well the weather here in Warrington is flipping awful, the wind is howling and it is raining and of course quite chilly!  Hubby has gone back to work today so I am in my favourite place in the house my craft room.  This is my first post of the day and plan to be back later with another card.

For the layout of this card I have used the sketch from Craft Your Passion Challenge.

The base card is from Keepsake which is owned by the Glitter Girls.  Their cardstock is gorgeous and I love this card.  I have used gold mirri card and attached ribbon before matting it onto the card.  I have added a doilly to the top left hand corner then attached a lilac bow.  The fancy square layers were cut out using my Spellbinder dies using K & Co paper from my stash.  The stamp is called "Blooming Wonderful" which is from the SWALK range from Crafter's Companion.  I have stamped her onto watercoloured card and coloured her in using my watercolour pencils.  I have cut her out using Spellbinder circle die and then used gold peel off around the edge.  I have added 3 buttons, 3 flowers and the sentiment from my crafty stash.

Little Madam

Good Evening

Here is my second post for today!  I don't know where today has gone!  Time flies I suppose when you are doing something you love!  I found out today that I won two challenges today one with my White on White card at Elphine House challenges and the second with my Thank you card over at The Paper Shelter.

I have used royal blue pearlescent card which I put through one of my embossing folders from Cuttlebug.  I then removed the top layer and using Dew Drops Brilliance in sky blue distressed to cover the white core of the card.  The top layer I have stamped "Little Madam" from my collection of SWALK stamp sets which I bought from Crafter's Companion.  I coloured her in using watercolour pencils and Sakura glitter pen in purple to highlight the necklace and the handle and clasp on the bag.  The flowers are from my stash as are the candy and gems.

Soccer Star from Kenny K

Good Afternoon All

Well today offering is a Kenny K digi stamp which I have only recently found and I have done a male card using the soccer digi.  I have a lot of male relatives and I am always on the look out for digi's for men so this will do nicely for one of my cousins who is made about football!

The base card is white pearlescent folded to make an A5 card.  I have added duo card and cut into different sized stripes and placed on the base of the card.  Using my Spellbinder Grande Circle die I have cut out the spotted card.  I have coloured the topper in using my watercolour pencils and then using Dew Drops Brilliance in sky blue distressed around the circle.  The boots, label and football are all from my crafty stash.

Thank You

Evening All
Well I am glad to say that I have now caught up with what I should have done yesterday so I am a happy bunny tonight.
Here is my second post of the day a card just to say Thank You to all of my followers and friends in blog land.  It has been a phenomenal year since starting my blog and I am nearly at the 200 followers mark and have had nearly 10,000 hits.  WOW.  I started my blog to share all my cards and to keep a diary of how I progress in the crafting world.  I didn't realise how addictive it is so once again I can't Thank each and everyone of you for travelling this journey with me.  I look forward to seeing you all again next year.

The shape of the card shows a square back piece and the front of the card is shaped on an arc and scalloped.  I have added black lace and the matted white pearlescent card over this.  I then cut out in black card a circle using Spellbinders Grande Circles which I then edged in silver peel offs.  The topper which shows my one of my favourite flowers stargazer lillies is from Hunkydory which I have decoupaged and then added black peel offs around the base.  I have added a sentiment from my crafty stash and then to finish off I have added 3 flowers and a bow.

Bygone Times

Morning All from a wet and cold Warrington.  I have had quite a busy morning so far and I am hoping to catch up with what I didn't get done yesterday.

I hope you are just about ready for Santa to pay us all a visit tomorrow night.  I love Christmas Eve and treated us to some Bucks Fizz to celebrate on the Christmas day whilst we are opening our presents.

I would like to wish all my blogland friends a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy, Prosperous and Crafty 2012.

For a change I have decided to make a man's card and this would do for any of my male relatives, haven't decided yet whom it will go to.  The card is A4 folded landscape and this fitted perfectly with the images and papers I wanted to use.  Everything on the card is from Hunkydory Bygone Times luxury kit.  I have added peel offs to the corners, the key I have embossed twice with Cosmic Shimmer Thick embossing crystals and then distressed using Pan Pastel in Burnt Sienna.  I have distressed the edges around the sentiment which reads "I'd travel around the world and back for you".  I am sure my Dad would love this as he is a massive car fanatic.

Evening All,

Whew what a busy day I have had today, did plan on doing a lot of little jobs done to get them out the way to clear the decks for New Year but computer decided to do a back up which took 2 hours grrrrrrr so I didn't get on the computer until 10.30 and usually I am on here at about 7.30.  Went and had my hair cut then my good friend Linda came today and I took her out for lunch and went to M & S, of course I spent some more on me this time.  When we came back computer decided not to play again grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  I was not a happy bunny.  After messing around with this thing for another hour or so I finally got back on line.

The card base is from Hunkydory which I have thread ribbon around and tied into a bow on the top left hand corner.  The first layer is holographic mirri card cut out using my Spellbinder dies.  I printed off the image onto white cardstock (Neenah card) from Crafter's Companion.  I coloured her using my water colour pencils and used glitter to hightlight the white on her coat and boots.  I have distressed the edge of the card and around the holographic card using Dew Drops Versa Magic hint of pesto.  Using my Martha Stewart punch I punched out snowflakes using pearlescent white card.  To finish off I have added 3 hatpins to the top left hand corner.

Pretty in Pink

Evening all, I hope you have all had a fabulous weekend and stay dry and warm.  Winter is certainly upon us and only 7 more days until Christmas.  I have had a really good day crafting in my room today and really enjoyed doing some CD crafting for a change.  It is nice to try different techniques and I bought a new CD which is a joint venture between the Glitter Girls and Jems Designs.  I have only recently found Jems designs and I must say that I absolutely adore them.

I have used an 8 x 8 pearlescent card in white for the base card.  The first layer is pale pink pearlescent card and then I have used backing paper for the next layer from Beautiful Dreamers which you can get from Jem's Designs.  I have printed the decoupage sheet off and cut this out and layered onto pale pearlescent pink card and edged the borders in silver peel offs.  The ribbon I have crossed over and add the cream bow with hat pins from my stash.  The sentiment has been glossed using glossy accents.

Fifties Fun

Afternon from a cold and chilly Warrington.  We have blue skies but boy is it cold out there today.

I haven't done any CD crafting for a while and I decided to make a card using My Craft Studios Fab Glam Fifties CD.  The images on these discs are fabulous and all were done by the lovely Nancy Watts.  My Dad was a teddy boy and mum was a teddy girl.  They were really good dancers and dad even won a competition back in the 1950's for his dancing.  I love rock and roll and only wish I could dance like that!

The base card is from Hunkydory.  The backing paper is from the above mentioned CD using the graphics programme I have resized the backing paper to fit the card then added the two figure, sign and records.  I copied and pasted the records and figures and decoupaged them to give this card dimension.  I have glittered the frill of Lori's dress.

Black & White Butterflies

Good Afternoon my lovelies

I hope you are all keeping safe and warm today.  Here in Warrington it has been snowing since 10 am this morning.  Big flakes and little flakes and some sleet too, it is starting to stick in some parts and my poor car is covered.

Patti's Kisses

Evening everyone

Well I have been a busy little bee today!  I have made a start on my DT projects for next year and a card for a relatives birthday card only I haven't decided on who to send it to yet!

From one of my blogging buddies Carol I learnt all about these marvelous new stamps and digi's.  This one is called Patti's kisses.  Isn't she just adorable.  You can buy her here and is the work of the amazing Elisabeth Bell.

I have used white base card from Hunkydory and threaded white ribbon through the wholes in the scallops and made a bow at the top of the card.  Using Spellbinder Label B I cut out Patti and coloured her in using my Watercolour pencils.  White pearlescent card has been cut out using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis squares and placed in the top right hand corner.  Before attaching Patti I layed a feather under then placed the topper over this.  The butterfly is cut using my Martha Stewart punch.  The flowers and beads are from my crafty stash.

National Cupcake Blog Hop hosted by Creations By Gill M

Today Gill is hosting the National Cupcake Blog Hop and we hope you all hop along to see some fantastic projects.  If you have come here to view my blog and would like to hop you can start at Gill's blog for the line up.

I have made 3 cards for this hop and I hope you like what I have done.  Cupcakes are everyone's favourites including mine especially with a nice cup of tea.

For this project I have used my MCS Papercraft Library Bunny Snuffles Birthday.  I have used Spray and Sparkle iridescent spray from Crafter's Companion on the backing paper.  Decoupaged the top panel and added the row of cupcakes to glitter card.  I have stamped a cupcake from Kanban onto shrink plastic and using my Sakura glitter pens coloured in then shrunk.  I then added a ribbon and using Pinflair glue gel attached to the card.

The base card is from Hunkydory and I have printed off cupcake backing paper and attached this to the base of the card.  I have used gold peel offs around the card.  The cupcake stamps and coffee cup are from my Kanban stamp set.  I have coloured these in using my Spectrum noirs and Sakura Glitter pens.  The coffee cup has been embossed with clear embossing powder and for the froth on the top I have used Fluffy Stuff by Woodware.  The cupcakes have been glittered and again I have attached a small cupcake pendant which has been shrunk and tied with a ribbon to the greeting die cut.

Again I have used Hunkydory base card and backing paper from MCS Papercraft Library Bunny Snuffles.  The digi stamp is one that I won from Sweet Treats which I have cut out using my scalloped nestie.  I added pink ribbon and a bow then decoupaged the cupcake.  The frosting on the top of the cupcake has had the Cosmic Shimmer Cosmic Twinkles effect.  I have attached a cupcake to the topper with mobile phone attachment.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my projects and will now continue the hop by visiting Linda to see what she has made.

Christmas Baubles

Afternoon Everyone

Well that's me all done now for Christmas, all my cards have been made and sent out and Christmas presents bought.  All I need to do now is get them all wrapped and then deliver them to family and friends.  I can't believe we are 11 days from Christmas day!  Where has this year gone!

I am now making cards for me and I am hoping this is the last Christmas card for this year.  There is a fab Crimbo Crackers Challenge blog which Ruth runs every fortnight throughout the year so I plan to play along and it will give me the incentive I need to not leave everything to the last like this year! Watch this space!!!!!!!!

Here is my card I have made for a few of the challenges for this month!

The base card is a 6 x 6 Navy blue pearlescent card.  I have used my Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder and embossed onto pale blue card.  I then used Dew Drops Brilliance Silver and distressed inked the snowflakes which makes them "POP".  I have used 3 baubles from a Hunkydory kit and attached silver holographic border peel offs to give the illusion of them hanging down the card.  I have added white pearl gems to each bauble. The sentiment reads "Have a very Merry Christmas" I have added 2 blue star gems either side.  The snowflakes have been cut out using my Martha Stewart Snowflake corner punch in blue mirri card and silver glitter card.

Music

Evening All

Here is my second post of the day.  As you are aware I am new to scrapbooking and I am in a scrapbook blog club run by my friend Gill.  Each month she gives us a challenge for our scrapbook page and for December's challenge it was to use punches.

I have used 12 x 12 Centura pearlised card and down the left hand side I have used a strip of K & Co paper.  Onto this I have used one of my Martha Stewart punches and punched out this border using white Centura pearlised card.  Between each of the flowers I have added some pearl gems.  The flowers from the border I have added to the bottom right hand corner and added some purple gems.  The musical notes are peel offs and the word Music are letter from my stash.

The photograph is when I was at Our Lady Immaculate's school concert in 1965.  This was my first school concernt and  I am on the front row in the middle and I played the bells.  I was only at this school for a short time as we moved to Wythercombe in January 1966 due to my Dad being posted down south.

Winter Wonderland

Evening my blogland friends

Tonight I have made another Christmas card which is the last one for this year!  I hope you are all keeping well and warm.  Here in Warrington it has been raining "cats and dogs" all day.  The wind has been very bad and I am snug in my craft room.  My lovely friend Linda came to visit today and we finished off a project for a blog hop I am doing in January.

I have taken a 6 x 6 square card in white for the base.  The frame and topper are from Hunkydory.  It is a beautiful scenic view in stunning colours.  I have added silver peel offs down both sides and added snowflakes in holographic card and glitter card.  The sentiment reads "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".

Boy with Lantern

This evening is just a quick card I made today.  I have used Morehead die cut decoupage and made a different shaped card (don't know what to call it!  I saw one like this at a show done smaller but have made this by using an A4 card and scored at 6½ cm, 9½ cm, 14½ cm and 19½ cm.

I have taken gold mirri card and cream pearlescent card and matted and layered onto the widest part of the card and punched 3 snowflakes and using Pinflair adhered them to the top of the card on the right hand corner.  The second fold I have attached a strip of cream pearlescent and then attached a strip of gold, brown and cream mirri which has Season's Greetings running through the middle.  Using double sided tape I have put a strip down the cream card and using Martha Stewarts glitters in brownstone added this which sparkles (the photograph unfortunately doesn't do this justice)  For the front of the card fold I have again added a strip of gold, brown and cream mirri.  Matted and layered gold mirri with backing paper inf creams and beiges.  I have decoupaged the Moorhead little boy with lantern.  Added 4 card candy from my stash and glittered these using Martha Stewart glitter in Brownstone.  I have placed holly peel offs in the 2 corners and coloured them in using my Sakura glitter pens, which I have also used to highlight the flame and his coat buttons.  Using Woodware Fluffy Stuff I have added this to his hat, top of lantern, scarf and underneath his feet and before heating with heat gun added some Cosmic Shimmer Iced Crystal.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Evening All

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.  I have had a lovely weekend playing in my craft room.  The weather here in Warrington UK is atrocious!  It has rained all day and has been very cold.

Today I have an easel card which I have made into a Christmas card.  This is going to one of my many friends!

I have taken an 8 x 8 Pearlescent card and creased along the middle of the front to form the base for the first layer.  The first layer is embossed card from Kanban which I have distressed with my Dew Drops Brilliance ink Lavender.  The topper which is from Kanban has been matted and layered using silver holographic card and lilac pearlescent card.  I have added lilac pearls to the four corners and added a little snowman another Kanban topper to complete the scene.  I have attached lilac ribbon with the greeing Happy Chrismas along the middle and punched some snowflakes using my Martha Stewart punch from the holographic card and layed them on the card.  The greeting is from Kanban.

The base of the card is another embossed card of snowflakes which I have distressed using Dew Drops Brilliance Starlight Silver.  I then sprayed this with Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle in Iridescent.  The bar which hold's the card as an Easel is a layer of holographic card and punched out snowflake border again a Martha Stewart punch.  I have added white pearls to each snowflake.

Pirate Teddy

Good Afternoon my blogland followers

Today I have made a card using LOTV stamp featuring a little teddy bear playing pirate.  I have used the sketch below from Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Using white 6 x 6 base card I have layered gold, copper and cream pearlescent card.  I have used lemon ribbon across the lower end and added card candy in dark brown on the corners of the cream card.  The teddy I have coloured in using my watercolour pencils and using Dew Drops Brilliance in cosmic copper just distressed the edges which has been cut out using my Spellbinder die (sorry I don't know which one this is).  The final touch was to add the sentiment which reads "Birthday Boy".

Butterfly Card

Good Morning

Today my posting is a card I have made using the colour blue.  I do so love using varying tones in one card and here is my butterfly card.  I have used the Sketch from a new challenge blog That Craft Place and this is their first challenge.

I have used an 8 x 8 square pearlescent white base card.  I have cut out the deep blue pearlescent card using my Spellbinders square.  Before attaching this to the card I added a silver mirri card cut out using Spellbinder Rectangle  then I have added kace along the top and 3 fine strands of ribbon along the bottom.  The next layer on the silver mirri is a stamp from My Paper World which I have stamped using an Emboss ink pad and then embossed using Silver WOW embossing powders.  I used Dew Drops Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue which I attached to the silver card.  The sentiment is from Creative Expressions, Heartfelt Sentiments.  I then used a butterfly from my stash (sorry don't know where I got this) and stamped it onto white card and then onto pale blue vellum.  I then embossed them using WOW embossing powder in silver.  I decoupaged them up and attached to the card.  I have added swirls, flowers and pearl gems from my stash.

Below is a close up of the sentiment which is lovely.  I do love my sentiments on cards and are so versatile.
