Art Phrase

Good Afternoon my crafty friends and followers

It is a lot cooler here today, no rain as yet but much cooler and great for getting those jobs in my craft room that I have been putting off.  My craft room is south facing so it gets very hot in here during the afternoon.  All my jobs are now done so I am having a serious few days of crafting, playing with my new Copics and stamps and new papers too.

Today's card I made using one of my new stamps which I bought on Monday!  You will find a lot of my cards in future having sentiments and phases on them.  Anyway here is my card for you today.

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is cream coloured from my stash.
2.  Using Spellbinder Die I have cut out the shape to match the base layer using silk art card.
3.  The second layer is from My Craft Studio Quintessential Paper pack which has flowers on the reverse side.
4.  Using the stamp which is from Creative Expressions and designed by Sam Poole called Art Sentiments I have stamped using Adirondak Eggplant.
5.  I cut out the flowers and leave and placed them either side of each other and added gems to the centres.
6.  The phrase is fantastic and I love it and is oh so true too!

Little Blondie

Good morning to all my crafty friends and followers

Well I have a lovely me day yesterday!  I went to Preston and met Melanie Heaton, what a lovely lady she is so very helpful and let me have a little play with the Copics, obviously I spent a fortune!  I know I shouldn't have but hey you only live once!!!!  The postie has been too and has brought my Copics so I will be having some more me crafting time today, then it is back to doing some work :)

Today my card is from Crafter's Companions Paintbox Poppets feature the work of artist Christine Haworth.  I was browsing through the CD the other week and came across this little boy!  He so reminded me of my youngest son Veli who was really blonde when he was younger so of course I printed off all the elements, backing paper, decoupage sheet and the insert and made the card below.

Recipe & Method

1.  The card base is Centura pearlescent royal blue card from Crafter's Companions
2.  I printed off the backing paper, decoupage sheet and insert onto pearlsecent paper from the Paintbox Poppets CD.
3.  The first layer is silver mirri card then the backing paper and curved the edge of both and the card base with my X-Cut corner punch.
4.  I then cut out all the decoupage layers and layered them down using Pinflair Glue Gel to give the image dimension.
5.  To finish off I have added Navy blue ribbon and added the sentiment to the centre of the ribbon and added a button either side.  At the top of the card I have added 3 card candy is silver.

Motoring Tag

Good morning my crafty friends and followers

This morning I am off to Preston for a couple of hours to see Melanie Heaton demonstrating Copics.  I am taking a bit of me time out from having such a busy month.  This week is all about doing things I have wanted to do for a while.  I hope you all have a fabulous Monday.

Today I am showing you a tag I have made using the new soon to be released Vintage Motors double CD by Kraftyhands.  I set the design team a challenge to make a tag using this CD as a bit of fun for us all before we start our own Challenges on the Kraftyhands blog on Saturday.  I will be posting about this later on in the week.

Recipe & Method

1.  The tag base is white photograph card which I have inked using my alcohol inks.  I used Spellbinder Labels 11 die to create the tag.
2.  I then used Dew Drops VersaMagic Gingerbread to distress the edges of the tag.
3.  I took the Darise embossing folder in Plaid and embosed a piece of pearlescent gold card.  Distressed it with my sanding block and scrunched it up and distressed the edges and creases with the ink pad mentioned above. I attached to the base of the tag.
4.  I printed off one of the backing sheets from the CD and tore randomly and scrunched this up and distressed the rough edges and placed them partly over the gold card.
5.  To finish off I have added a couple of charms from my stash.
6.  I attached a metal clip in line with the hole I punched at the top and using a spanner brad secured the clip.
7.  I took two pieces of raffia and plaited them and attached to the clip.

Another use for Acetate!

Good evening all

Well I have had a lovely day meeting up with my crafty friends Mike and Ian from Kraftyhands.  We have finalised the changes for the Kraftyhands blog so keep your ears peeled.  My lips are sealed until the weekend when I will be explaining everything.

Well I hope it has been lovely and sunny wherever you are.  It has been glorious here in the UK and about time too!!!

My card tonight I have made using items that have been lying around now for about 9 months and needed to be made into a card.  I hope you like what I have made :)

Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is from Kanban Crafts.
2.  The first layer is from Kanban Crafts from their Kandi Core Card Range. I have used one of my Martha Stewart corner punches  on each of the corners and then adhered it to the base of the card.
3.  The trees have been stamped onto acetate and placed over a piece of card which has been distressed using an Assortment of Tim Holtz distress inks (sorry I can't remember which colours).
4.  I have cut the acetate down and using brads attached to the distress inked card and placed onto the first layer.
5.  To finish off I have added 3 buttons to the top and leaves from my stash to the bottom.

A Tour Around My Craft Room

Good Evening to all my crafty friends and followers

First I would like to welcome all my new followers, thank you for following my blog and your comments they are very much appreciated.

As a few of you know I have been suffering with my back over the past week and last night I realised why.  I didn't have my computer in the right place for me to work on so I sent my hubby off to Argos this morning to pick me up a corner desk!  So while he was gone I had to strip my room of nearly everything!  It took about half an hour to put the desk together (I am like a dog with a bone!  If I want something doing it has to be done ASAP).  As you know when you move furniture around, it need hoovering behind the cupboards etc.  Well the flipping Hoover blew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hubby and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!  So off we trotted to Tesco to pick up a brand new Hoover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got back and had a cup of tea and then made another attempt at getting the room back to some semblence of order!  Well I finally finished putting everything back and found homes for all my crafty stash!

These are 2 shelves that holds my flowers, ribbons, lace, gems and off cuts of assorted card

These cupboards holds all my different A4 and A3 card stock.  The coloured drawers hold all my cards and envelopes.  On top of the cupboard is my guillotine.  I painted the doors of this cupboard last year using Sheena Douglass' paint fusion they are the berries and the sweet peas with butterflies.  These doors took me 13 hours to do and was a labour of love!

My filing cabinet which has been categorised into male, female, babies, children, animals etc holds my A3 printed and on the shelves above are my A4 fileswhich has all my rubber stamps in their categories, ie Paint Fusion, Creative Expressions, LOTV, Elisabeth Bell, SWALK, Paintbox Poppets, A Little Bit Skechy, Popcorn and my Clarity Stamp folder too!

More shelving above holds my inks, paint brushes, Sakura Pens, boxes of buttons, sentiments, drawers of different embellishments, just a few of my CD's & DVD's others are in the attic. This is my old desk which I have utilised the space by putting a small filing cabinet in as this holds all my assorted papers such as shrink plastic, acetate, vellum, parchment etc.

This cube holds my Grande Calibur, the plastic boxes hold all my Spellbinder dies, a box full of my Martha Stewart punches, my 12 x 12 card and paper then the last square holds Clarity Stamps, wedding embellishments, glitters etc.  The slim grey set of draws holds my rock-a-blocks, embossing powders, my Pebeo paints, mica powders, alcohol inks.  The drawers above holds my brushes and sponges for distressing, my Pan Pastels, stamped and Digi images that have been stamped/printed off and ready to colour.

and finally my new desk!!!! On here I have my lappy, glass mat, 2 Ottlites, paper towel holder from just some of my tapes, pen pot holder which holds my scissors, pens, pencils, tweezers, erasers, pokey tool, bone folders etc.  Can you see my Spectrum Noirs?  Don't they look fab in their own lovely shelving?  Well I hope you have enjoyed your tour of my Craft Room where I make all my crafting projects.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts on my Craft Piece of Heaven.

Oyster Stamps First Blog Hop

Good Morning to all my Crafty Friends and Followers

Hi, I am so excited to be taking part in the first ever Oyster Stamps Blog Hop using the lovely Cut, Fold and Tuck dies by Spellbinders. Complicated looking cards can be created in next to no time with these adaptable and mixable dies, especially when you use them in the Grand Calibur where you can cut a whole host of them at once.
If you came straight here to my blog you have missed the beginning of our blog which was Neet  who has introduced the blog hop and a chance to see what she had made with the dies.  I wonder which dies she has used.
My first card is made using Carnival Dream from Oyster Stamps

The card is made using Pearlescent Silver card which I have made an A5 landscape card.  The Spellbinder has been used on duo purple card which i have added all the 3 layers one on top of the other and curved slightly to form a flower with a white pearl in the centre.  I have taken a piece of white card and embossed using the Spellbinder M-Bossabilities Garden Delight folder.  I then double embossed using embossing powder between the embossing of the layers I have sprinkled lilac mica powder.  Using Whimsy Shapeology Elegant Butterflies die set I have cut out 3 lilac butterflies and used pearls as their trails.  To finish off I have added a white bow and 2 stick pins with lilac tops.

My second card I have used Spectacular Spin

I have made an 8 x 8 card.  I took a separate piece of white card and cut out the centre of the card using Spellbinder Grande Dahlia die.  On the base of the card I have stamped swirls using swirl stamp from Creative Expressions using Tim Holtz Sapphire blue.  I have cut out the the Spectacular spin dies using duo card in blue and attached 2 together using Pinflair glue and a Dragonfly brad.
I have cut out the blue dahlia border using 2 dies and placed it onto the base card.  The white card I have added double foam pads for height and placed it over the decorated card.  To complete my card I have added the butterfly and added blue gems to the centre of the body (Whimsy Shapeology Elegant Butterflies Die Set).  The blue swirl is cut out using Whimsy Shapeology Elegant Flourishes.
The Centre of the Spectacular Spin I have added to the top of the card with a blue gem.  Of course my card wouldn't be complete without a ribbon and I have made a double bow using white and blue ribbon together and using a glue dot placed it onto my card and added 3 stick pins 2 in blue and one white one.  All of the dies and embossing folder can be found on the Oyster Stamps Website.

There will be a prize for one lucky winner. In order to be in the draw to win two of the dies that have been used on the blog hop they must leave a comment on ALL SIX blogs.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you visit the other fabulous designers below for lots more ideas and inspiration and leave a comment to be with a chance to win one of these lovely dies

Chic Boutique

Good morning to all my crafty friends and followers

I hope it is dry wherever you are here in Warrington at the moment is it sunny with a few clouds and windy.  Been to the doctors this morning as my back has been really painful over the weekend.  I have muscular pain and have been put on strong painkillers.  I was told that back pain can last up to 6 weeks!  I am not a happy bunny about that!  I have never suffered with back pain as bad as this before and I am so hopping it gets better sooner rather than later.  Anyhow less of me rambling on about my pain  and here is my card.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is duo coloured card from Create & Craft.  I have scored to make an A5 card then on the front of the card cut down the middle to form to panels to make a double easel card.
2.  On the inside of the card I have matted one layer of white pearlescent paper.  The stopper for one side is flowers and the second side the verse has been stamped onto pink card using one of my sentiment stamps from Clarity.  I have used Martha Stewart corner punch.
3.  On both panels I have matted a layer of pale pink card with silver dots on from my stash.
4.  Both of the toppers are from Chic Boutique Topper from Kraftyhands.  You get 2 of each design so I have inked around the edges of both base cards and layered them onto the first layer.  I have cut out the bottle and inked around the bottle and added glitter.  The second one I have also cut out the inner square of the topper and inked the edge and also added glitter.  On both of the toppers I have added pink pearl gems.
5.  To finish the card off I have punched 2 butterflies using my Martha Stewart punch and added card candy to both panels.

Well the weather here in Warrington definitely doesn't know what it is doing, we have still got quite a breeze here but we have had rain and sunshine, one minute it is dark and grey and now as I type this we have the sun shining through my craft room window.

I have a second card for you today.  I have used Peek-a-Boo Baby by the fabulous Artist Sherri Baldy who is the owner of Scrapbook Stamp Society.  You can purchase this lovely digi here while you are there why not have a good browse around the shop too as there are new items added regularly, they have also started to sell Copics too.

Recipe & Method

1.  Pearlescent 8 x 8 card base.
2.  First layer is pale brown paper from my stash.  The second layer is from K & Co which has little brown spots running down in stripes.
3.  Before placing both layers down I have added baby ribbon which is made up of feet, pram, and bottle.
4.  I printed the baby off onto Neenah card and coloured in using my Spectrum Noirs and for the green little leaves on the top I have used Sakura glitter pens.
5  I have cut her out using Spellbinder Grande Labels Eleven.  Whilst still in the die I have distressed the edges using Dew Drops Brilliant in pearlescent orchid on the inside and then on the outside used Dew Drops VersaMagic in pumkin spice.
6.  I have added the sentiment from my stash to the top left and added flowers from my stash as well as using Martha Stewart leaf punch to punch out the leaves.
7.  To finish off I have added pink gems to opposite corners and then around the top and bottom of the topper.

Florals

Good morning to all my crafty friends and followers

Well yesterday I took time out from crafting and had a good tidy in my craft room as I have bought new storage boxes for my ribbons, flowers and lace and they were in desperate need of sorting.  I also think my mojo had a day off too.  I have also sorted out all my Spectrum noirs into their colours etc as I now have all of them.  So with my tidy head on I sorted out my desk drawers and everything is now tidy.  I came across a few cards which I had made ages ago so I thought I will share one of them with you today before I get down to making more samples :)

This is a Mother's card I made a while ago.  The toppers are from a kit I bought from KraftyHands.  I love these flowers but for the life of me I can't remember what they are called.  I have used Silver mirri card for matting and layering and glittered the insides of the flowers and the leaves. The butterfly has also been glittered.  I have added a bow with a clear bead droplet.  I think these are hydrangers but I am sure my lovely friends will tell me if I am wrong.  I hope you all have a great day and I will hopefully have another posting later on today.

Emily

Good afternoon to all my crafty friends and followers

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my post yesterday.  I really do appreciate the time you take to stop by for a visit and leave a comment and also to the visitors who just pop in to see what I have made for you all.

Today it is another creation using Jem's Designs Beautiful CD.  I have used Emily today and made an A5 card.  The creations that I make for my blog will all be for sale at a craft fair I am going to in Hornsea in July.  We are staying with my brother-in-law and his wife for a few days and then going off to Alynwick for a few days.  I am a massive Harry Potter fan and I am looking forward to this trip.  I just hope that the weather is better than what we are experiencing at the moment.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is Brown Kraft Card which I purchased from AnnaMarie Designs.  I have scored down the centre to make an A5 card.
2.  From the Beautiful CD I have printed off the paper curl page reduced to A5 and the decoupage topper.
3.  First layer is green pearlescent card to which I have added the backing paper.
4.  I have layered the first layer of the decoupage onto the green card and placed on the card.
5.  On the page curl part I have added leaves and flowers from my stash.
6.  I have added green pearl gems to the corners and finished off with a sentiment.

Catherine

Afternoon Everyone

Well I am in the best place today busy crafting and keeping warm, just had my lunch and now back to it.  Before I get on with some more samples I have a card for you that I have made.  I found this A4 card whilst I was tidying up last week and thought it would be ideal to showcase Catherine from Jem's Designs Beautiful CD.

 Recipe & Method

1.  Base card is A4 and from my stash, this is part of an old Kanban kit that I had for quite a few years.
2.  I have printed off Catherine onto pearlescent paper (this paper is quite thick and sturdy and I bought this from Anna Marie Designs).  I use this all the time for printing onto and it is so easy to cut especially for decoupage.
3.  I have printed off the decoupage sheet and I resized the fan in my graphics programme and added "Happy Mother's Day"
4.  I matted the base layer of the decoupage onto pale blue pearlescent card and positioned this onto the card.  Decoupaged Catherine and then added blue gems to her dress and aurora burealis gems to the twinkles and flowers on the base.
5.  I have added the fan and made a bow in Navy Blue and tied baby blue ribbon around the centre and curled the ribbon with my scissors.  I have added a blue and white rose.

Daisy

Good Evening All

Another quick post from me again today.  Just finished one of of samples and 4 more to go before next Friday.  Well I hope you have all had a fabulous day, me I have enjoyed doing what I have made and when I can I will show you :).

About a month ago I bought the Daisy and Friends CD from Joanna Sheen's website as this was recommended by another crafting friend.  Well last week I actually had time to go through this and I made a card.  This is the card I am showing you tonight.

Recipe & Method

1.  Card base is 6 x 6 from Kanban Crafts.
2.  I printed off the backing paper onto pearlescent paper and cut out two scalloped squares with my Spellbinder die.
3.  I used a yellow piece of pearlised card and using MBossibilites Spendid embossed the card then sanded the first layer off and using Dew Drops VersaMagic Tea Leaves inked the card.
4.  I printed off Daisy onto pearlescent paper and cut her out using rectangle Spellbinde die.
5.  I took 2 pieces of ribbon and made a double bow and added to the top left hand corner and then on the bottom right hand corner added some flower and leaves from my stash.  I then finished off with small yellow pearl gems.
