Tatoos and Feathers

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

WOW I hope you are all well!  Whew another busy day at Krafty Towers so I don't plan on being in cyber land all night, but knowing me that won't happen LOL.  I like to catch up with all my crafty friends.

Tonight's card is one I really enjoyed doing :)  Can you tell?

8 x 8 square cream scalloped card
I have used TH Vintage Photo and stamped a combination of different sized cog then using Spica Copic pens coloured the centres with blue.
The first layer is from Docraft Chronology paper pack and one of the shaped cards on the left hand side.
I printed the image off onto Stampography card and then cut around the bottom of the image and cut her out using the Spellbinder Cogs die.  I coloured the image which is from Delicious Doodles using my Copics.
Before laying the topper down I have added beige coloured feathers.
The cogs are cut from Kraftyhands Deco Kut using Spellbinder Sproket dies.
To finish off I have added an old earring (a find from a charity shop), fob watch and top right is a charm that says "Believe"

Seeing Treble

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

Well I have had a good productive day again today.  I managed to get a lot done today and more besides too.  Just had a lovely Sunday roast cooked by my Rick, he sure does look after me.

The snow has well and truly gone now here, the rain cleared most of it away during the night then we have had blue skies and the sun shone for us today.  About 5 o'clock the heavens opened and cleared the remainder of the snow away.

Today I have been playing with my inks, PanPastels and embossing powders and getting lovely and messy.  The corset stamp I have used is from Visible Image.  I am starting to get quite a collection of these fabulous stamps.  The quality of the stamp is superb and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

DL white card base
First layer is purple holographic card
Second layer is Stampography card which I have stamped the corset using Versamark Dazzle and then dusted over the PanPastel in Violet.  I wrapped black ribbon with beads on and layered onto the holographic card.
I then stamped 3 corsets and on two of them used WOW embossing powder in Black Glint Regular and Magical Mauve embossing glitter, I cut them out and using PanPastels in violet and black.
The tag is a Spellbinder die which I have stamped the sentiment and distressed with PanPastel I attached black organza ribbon.
To finish off I have added black gems.

What's in your umbrella?

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

I hope you are having a great weekend.  Lovely and white here in Warrington, we had blue skies and the snow started to melt.   I cleared the back door steps out of the conservatory as my poor Tiggy went skidding and was not at all impressed!  Hubby has now cleared the front of the house, it is forecast for rain tomorrow so we will see.  Even though I love the snow I think we have had enough now.

The image I have used on my card today is a digi I won from a blog challenge last year from Shelly's images and it is called "come May flowers".

6 x 6 scalloped white card
First layer is white card which I have stamped a flower using Versafine and then coloured using PanPastels Bright Yellow Green Tint.
The circle has been cut out using Spellbinder Splendid Circles die on a piece of First Edition Summer Breeze 6 x 6 paper pack.
I printed the umbrella onto Stampography card and cut out using Spellbinder Scalloped Oval die.
I have coloured the image with Copic's and Spica Glitter pens.  I have distressed around the bottom of the image using PanPastel Permanent Red Tint and the top with Ultramarine blue tint.
To finish off I have added "Happy Birthday" sentiment to the circle and gems to the corners.  The dragonfly is a charm which I found in my stash.

Emily Raindrops

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

Well the weekend has officially started in our house, hubby has just cycled home in the snow which started just as he left work and it is sticking!  The sky looks really heavy and I think we will have another covering.  Tiggy went out and came back in via my craft room window.  Lol she isn't soft she knows I work up here so comes and lets me know that it is time for me to let her back in.

Now you all know that I love Heather Valentin's digi's and I am on her design team over at Lacy Sunshine.  She has her own shop and is selling her retiring digi's for just $1, yes you have read it right!  Today's card I have used Emily Rainy Day.  I just adore this digi and have used it quite a few times this is also being retired and is $1.

A5 scalloped white base card
First layer is from Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection Spots and Stripes.
Before matting this layer onto the base of the card I have cut out using Spellbinder Ribbon Buckle on white pearlescent card and threaded lilac ribbon through and attached.
Second layer is Core'dinations in deep purples which has been cut out using Spellbinder Romantic Rectangles.
I printed Emily off onto Stampography card and then cut out using Spellbinder Timeless Rectangle.  I then coloured the image using Copic Ciao Pens.  Using Spica glitter pens I have highlighted the rain drops, spots on the umbrella, dress, coat and wellies.  I then used PanPastels Violet tint to the edges.
To finish off I have attached a Happy Birthday sentiment which has also been distressed with Violet Tint.  I then added some dark grey pearl gems.

About Me

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Followers

A good blogging friend of mine Katie Skilton asked me if I would do a piece about myself for her blog which appears on her blog today.  Please visit Katie's blog as she is a fantastic crafter and has some lovely features on her blog here

As you all know I live in Warrington in the UK.   I have 2 sons and a stepson, I became a grandmother for the first time in 2011 to a beautiful little girl called Alice and then last year my youngest son presented me with another granddaughter called Florence.  I have a very supportive husband called Rick and we are owned by our lovely tortoise shell cat called Tiggy.

I started crafting when I was a young girl.  My Dad taught me how to knit and I can still remember sitting beside my Nan whilst she taught me how to make all of my dolls clothes from vest and knickers through to coats and hats.

I have dabbled into all sorts of crafting from crochet, embroidery and cross stitch.  My house is full of my cross stitch pictures and quite a few of my friends and relatives have pictures too.  I got into card making about 13 years ago and I love it.  I started off working in the conservatory but as my crafting stash grew so did my need for more space.  About 5 years ago now we converted one of our bedrooms into a craft room and you will find me working here everday.

About 5 years ago I got my first design team position working as part of Stephanie Weightman’s My Craft Studio designers and some of my work was shown on Create and Craft.  Some of you might have seen me working at some of the craft shows up and down the country as I worked with Kay Rutter who designed the Hougie Board.  Kay was responsible for giving me the confidence to show my work as I wasn’t very confident and for this I can’t thank Kay enough for believing in me.

Two years ago I started my blog.  WOW it has been the best thing I have ever done.  I have not only met a lot of crafting friends (some of whom I have had the privilege to meet) but have got so much inspiration and feedback on my work.  I even joined a few blog design teams too and through this have made friends with crafters from all over the world.

Last year I was privileged to be asked to be on the design team for Kraftyhands and was made our Blog Challenge coordinator.  In October Mike and Ian asked me to work for them and I am their Operations Manager and travel to Leeds every week to work in their new studio.  We have a lot of fun but at the same time work really hard.  The boys are great designers and have some great ideas and their CD’s are just awesome.  There are lots more great new products being released this year too so keep your eyes peeled.

People often ask me what my style of crafting is and the only way I can describe it is that it is eclectic.  I do love to mix different techniques, CD crafting with stamping and distressing, parchment craft with stamping.  I do love CD crafting but I must admit that I love stamping too.  I love to do altered art but I haven’t had much time to do this but I am hoping to get into this more this year.

Here are just a couple of samples of what I have made over the past 2 years.  I would like to thank Katie for asking me to do this and I hope you enjoyed getting to know me too.

This is the doors to my cupboard using Sheena Douglass’ stamps and Pebeo paints (Paint Fusion)
This card was featured in an online magazine for Scrapbook Stamp Society an American Company.

This card is made using Acetate which I have stamped trees onto and then attached with brads to watercolour card which I have distressed.
You can see from this selection just how my work varies.

Sympathy Cards

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends and Followers

I hope you are all well and are managing to get some crafting done.  I have had a really productive 2 days of crafting and hoping to get some more done tomorrow and the weekend.

Todays cards I am showcasing are from Kraftyhands CD called "In Sympathy".  I am sure you will agree with me that these are some of the most difficult cards to make and when Mike and Ian designed this CD a lot of us on the design team were blown away not only by the gorgeous sentiments but also the beautiful papers and designs.  You can purchase this CD on the Kraftyhands Website Here.

Here are a couple of my designs.

Sassy's Chrissy Prom Girl

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

Whew where has today gone already!  I have to admit that I have got a lot done today so far so I am pleased about that.  Thought I would post earlier today as I have got a lot of DT work that I am in the process of making and want to get them done and dusted by tomorrow so that I can spend the rest of the week and weekend playing, I have some new digi's and just waiting for a parcel to arrive with some more crafty goodies.  I will tell you all about it at the weekend.

Today's card I made a couple of days ago, I wanted to use other colours than the ones I usually go for.  I am really pleased with how this turned out and loving the colours.  Would you believe that the flourish at the bottom of the card is actually greaseproof paper which I used to help cut this intricate die out so used this instead of what I planned to use.  I think it looks great with the background paper and subtle too.

Cream 6 x 6 square card.
First layer is from First Edition Boho paper pack
Second layer has been cut out using gold pearlescent Spellbinder Oval Die,
The 3rd layer has been cut out using Spellbinder Decorative Oval.
I have printed the image onto Stampography and then coloured using Copic Ciao pens and cut out using Spellbinder Oval.
The flourish is from Spellbinders called Fantastic Flourish One.
I have added a yellow bow with a dazzle gem and 3 stick pins.  I have added pearls to the flourish and a sentiment from my stash.
