Sweet Magnolia

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Well we are all packed and ready to go on our holiday tomorrow.  I hope you have all had a wonderful day and that you managed to get some crafting done today too.

Tonight's card is one of Sheena Douglass' floral stamps the magnolia.  I do love these flowers and the tree's look stunning when in full bloom.


Recipe

1. Labels 1 shape white card.
2. First layer is Core'dination card which I have cut using Spellbinders Label 1 die and sanded back the top layer, I wrapped black stitched ribbon from corner to corner and layered onto the card.
3. I cut out a piece of black card and in circular motions covered the card with Versamark, I then added Imagination Crafts Mica Powders, I sprayed cheap hairspray to set the mica.
4. I stamped the magnolia onto acetate and used Pebeo Cerne Relief around the image, once this was set I painted the flowers with Pebeo Prisme Fantasy paints.  I then cut it out and layered it onto the black card.
5. To finish off I have added a pearl butterfly, sentiment "Just for You", added a bow and pearl gems on the ribbon.

Castle in the Sky

A quick post this morning as I have a lot to get done today as me and Rick are off on our holiday tomorrow.  I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and managed to get some crafting done.

Here is one of my cards from yesterday I managed to make.



Recipe

1. 5½ x 8 inch cream pearlescent card.
2. The first layer I have used 2 DCWV Once Upon a Time paper pack and wrapped a ribbon around the join.
3. I cut out an Oval using Kraft card
4. The topper is blue pearlescent card which I have stencilled the castle from Sweet Poppy with Sparkle Medium Antique Bronze from Imagination Crafts.  I then cut out using Spellbinder Die
5. I have added to bronze corners and coloured the pearl butterfly with Copic Marker.

The Birds

Good Evening Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I had a marvellous time demonstrating yesterday at Port Sunlight, the day just flew past.  It was lovely to see some of my crafting blogging and Facebook friends.  I made some new friends too.
Thank you all for dropping by and saying hello!

I have had a good day today putting away my new crafty goodies and playing again in my craft room.  Tonight's card is another made with Sheena Douglass' A little bit Oriental range of stamps, paper pack and embossing folders.


Recipe

1 5½ x 8 inches cream pearlescent card.
2. I have wrapped black ribbon around the patterned paper and matted and layered onto the base of the card.
3. Using the Birds embossing folder I have embossed using bronze pearlescent card.
4. The topper I distressed with an assortment of brown tones distress ink then swiped over with gold paint and wiped off.
5. I stamped the birds from the Oriental Silhouette stamp sheets and the maple leaves from the Lantern stamp sheet with black Momento ink
6. I stamped the sentiment on the scrap of card that was left over from the topper
7. To finish off I have added orange and yellow Card Candi to the ribbon and tied a faux bow.

Vintage Steampunk

WOW thank you to everyone who joined our first challenge over at Scribble and Scrap.  Today is the start of our new challenge and the theme is Anything Goes.  My teamies have made some amazing projects and I do hope that you will pop along to the blog and we look forward to seeing your creations too.

Recipe

1. 6 x 6 Kraft square card which I have matted and layered black/gold card which I have wrapped brown lace around.
2. The image was printed onto Super Smooth card which I then lightly coloured with Copic's. I then distressed around the image using Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I then matted and layered this onto black card.
3. I added metal leaf and flower which I added a gem to the centre.
4. To finish off I added the ticket which is from Tim Hotlz.

The stand is all set up ready for the one day show today at the Happy Stampers, Port Sunlight.  I had a lovely evening with Harvey, Bob and Jean.

It's Good to be Koi!

A beautiful sunny day here in Warrington with a bit of a breeze.  How are you all doing today, it's Friday!  Well bags and all demo items are packed now and just got to get ready before I head off to Port Sunlight for the Happy Stampers Craft show tomorrow.

I have been naughty this morning and had another play with Sheena Douglass' A little bit Oriental Stamp set.  I had an idea about using the Koi on some patterned acetate I have had for years and looks like rippling water.  Here is the finished card.  I do hope you like it.


Recipe

1. 8 x 8 square white pearlescent card
2. Navy blue card embossed using Waterlily embossing folder, swiped Versamark across the card and added silver Cosmic Shimmer mica powders.
3. Second layer is from the paper pack with the Koi on I have edged with silver marker pen
4. I prepared the acetate first by swiping over with an emery board, stamped the koi and waterlily with Versamark and embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment "Tranquility" and embossed with white embossing powder.
5. I turned over the acetate and coloured the Koi and waterlily with Copic Sketch pens and painted over them with white acrylic paint.
6. I matted the acetate onto white card with 4 blue pearl brads and then onto the base of the card.

Cherry Blossom

Well all demo's done and dusted, just got to pack my bag tomorrow and I am ready to rock and roll!  Off to Port Sunlight for the Happy Stampers tomorrow afternoon to help Harvey (Imagination Crafts) set up ready for the one day show on Saturday.

Well I was soooooo excited this afternoon as finally my new Stamps, embossing folders and paper pad from Sheena Douglass' arrived.  Of course I HAD to have a play, it would have been rude not too!  Here is what I made!


Recipe

1. 8 x 8 square white pearlescent card.
2. Using the Sakura A4 embossing folder I embossed black card, cut it down to size, swiped over with Versamark and then dusted gold mica powders.
3. I took a piece of green card and layered this over the black card.
4. Onto a piece of black shiny card I stamped the sentiment, Tree and Chinese word and embossed with Gold Embossing powder.  I stippled white acrylic paint over the tree as blossom.
5. To finish off I added three gold buttons.

Jolly Snowman

I hope you are all keeping well and managing to get some crafting in!  I am busy here putting the finishing touches to my demonstrations.  Busy day ahead but hoping by teatime everything will be sorted so I just have to pack my bags tomorrow morning before I head off to Port Sunlight to help set up on the Imagination Crafts stand.

Recipe

1. 5 x 6 square white card which I have matted and layered silver and lilac satin card.
2. I have wrapped white organza ribbon around the middle before layering onto base card.
3. I stamped the Snowman onto black satin card with Versamark and then dusted 2 different colours of the Mica Powders.
4. I did the same for the sentiment "Let it Snow"
5. From the scrap of black satin card I have swiped over with Versamark ink pad and then dusted with Lilac Mica Powders.

Happy Stampers, Port Sunlight

Busy here putting the finishing touches to my demonstrations for Saturday at the Happy Stamper Show in Port Sunlight this Saturday.  This show is for one day and is a pre-order tickets only.

Buttons and Bows

Well first of all I want to thank each and everyone of you who wished me a "Happy Birthday" yesterday.  I had a fabulous day and got spoilt rotten by my lovely hubby Rick.

A quick post this morning as off to have my hair done before I go on holiday next week.  Really looking forward to it too, definitely need some sun.  Very lucky yesterday as we had a lovely warm sunny day here.

Here is today's card.


Recipe

1. Flower shaped card which I have covered with paper from First Edition Sweet Owl.
2. I coloured a white doily with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany
3. The Topper is from Hobby House which I have distressed with the above distress ink.
4. I added buttons and bows around the card and added a sentiment.

Happiness is time............

Recipe

1. Silver pearlescent 8 x 8 square card.
2. White pearlescent and black card matted and layered with white organza ribbon wrapped around.
3. Lavinia designer card which I have stamped in Memento and Versamark and embossed with Black Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder.
4. The sentiment is from Clarity Stamp and stamped with Memento Ink
5. To finish off I have added gems to the 4 corners and a double bow.

1837.....

Well after yesterday's beautiful today has been a bit of a let down, fine dizzily rain here that soaks you to the skin and so dull.  Busy beavering away in my craft room today as having tomorrow off to celebrate my birthday.  They sure are coming round quickly!  I hope you have all had a good day.

Here is a card I made this afternoon, just for a bit different to demo's and Christmas cards.



Recipe

1. 6 x 6 pearlescent cream square card I have matted and layered lace effect card to the base.
2. Second layer is from Kraftyhands Man about Town CD
3. Matted and layered a cream doily (looks white!).
4. The topper is from Kraftyhands 1837 die cut set which I have layered with foam pads to give dimension.
5. To finish off I have added a flower and black and cream pearl gems.

Autumn leaves must Fall!

We have had a beautiful sunny day here today and been quite warm too.  The granddaughters are really growing fast, Alice has started pre-school and loves it and was telling me all about it.  Little Florence is now walking and has a mop of curly hair, mmmmmmm I wonder who she got that off ;).  The is such a cheeky little monkey too but adorable at the same time, they both are.

Tonight's card I have made using one of the backgrounds I made last Wednesday at Kath's using my Gelli Plate.
This is the card using my favourite colours of Autumn

Recipe

1. 8 x 8 square russet red card which I have matted and layered orange and yellow card
2. I wrapped deep red ribbon around the two layer and added to faux bows on either side.
3. The topper has been made by first using gold metallic acrylic paint I then used red paint and Imagination Crafts Acorn stencil, I cut this down to size and used one of the trees designed by Sheena Douglass.  I dotted Copic Markers over the leaf areas in red, orange, yellow and a small amount of green.
4. On a small scrap piece of card left over I stamped the leaves from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Range of stamps.
5. I stamped the sentiment from the above stamp range with Memento Ink

1. 6 x 6 scalloped white square card which I have matted and layered brown and stripped card from First Edition paper pack.
2. I have threaded pink polka dot ribbon through the lace and attached to the back of the card.
3. The topper is from LOTV which I have coloured in Copic pink markers and matted and layered onto pink flowered card.
4. I have added a sentiment, swirl from my stash with some roses and 3 flower buttons down the side.

Blue for you know who!

I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  We actually saw some sun this afternoon for a couple of hours.  My friends Lesley came to see me this afternoon for a good natter and a catch up.  Managed to get some crafting done and going to spend this evening watching a movie, not sure which one but chillin anyway.

Here is a card I made today.


Recipe

1. 6 x 6 square card which I have distressed with pale blue PanPastels.
2. The first layer I have wrapped navy blue ribbon on two sides of the card and matted and layered onto base of card.
3 The next layer is from my stash which I have added the topper to with foam pads for dimension.
4. I have added a sentiment, blue gems and a spray of flowers to finish off

Fairy Garden Book

What a flippin morning I have had with my computer!  It has nearly gone out the window!  All sorted now thank goodness but I am late in posting than I wanted.  Anyway full of beans today so have been up and got 2 loads of washing done, housework all done so now it is time for crafting!  Bring it on!!!!

Today I am showing you a book that the lovely Kath showed me how to make on Wednesday.  I will be making a few more of these now I know how to make them!  This one is for my lovely mum!


Front of the book, I have used the lovely papers and stamps from Lavinia that were featured on QVC. The Flourish is from my stash and I have distressed the edges with Dusty Concord.  I have decoupaged the fairy and added ribbon to close the book.  The label is one that Kath gave me.


This is the back of the book has the same papers and stamps by Lavinia.


The papers are from Kath's stash :) The bird and birdcage are Tim Holtz.  I have added 3 flowers which I added Dusty Concord to give a tonal effect.  Added lace to the top and bottom, a beaded flouish and added a gem for the birds eye, and purple pearl gems to the birdcage.

Bunny Love

Where has today gone?  Had a lovely day watching Hels and Sheena whilst playing with my Imagination Crafts products.  I have very inky fingers and mica powder everywhere!  I hope you have all had a good day no matter what you have been doing.

Tonight's card is made for Mad Crafters Giggle Tic, Tac, Toe challenge.


Recipe

1. 6 x 6 square white card which I have matted and layered silver mirri card and pink polka dot paper onto the base.
2. I have added a circle doily and added 5 flower gems.
3. The topper which is from Hobby House, I have coloured around the image with Copic Sketch in Rose Mist and added foam pads to give dimension.
4. I wrapped pink ribbon around one corner and made a bow and added a flower gem to the centre
5. To finish off I have added a sentiment.

Humming Bird

A busy day here at Simpson towers, preparation work is underway for my demonstrations next Friday at the Happy Stampers (Port Sunlight) where I will be demonstrating on Imagination Crafts stand.

As promised here is another card made using one of the backgrounds I created using my Gelli Plate.


Recipe

1. 6 x 6 blue pearlescent card base which I have matted and layered white card which has been distressed with Faded Jeans.
2. The next layer is the background made using the Gelli Plate and Imagination Crafts Heart Flourish with blue acrylic paints. I have distressed the edges with Tumble Glass and wrapped a ribbon around in blue before layering down.
3. I stamped the humming bird and flowers using Faded Jeans, and Tumbled glass when watercoloured them.  Once dried I cut them out and created the scene.
4. To finish off I added 3 blue pearl gems.

If the Shoe fits.............

A busy day here today, I have been to see my mum and dad who are both doing well, then shopping and managed to get some crafting in as well.

Tonight's card will apply to many a woman as if you are anything like me I just love my shoes ;)


Recipe

1. 6 x 6 white square card which I have matted and layered 3 different patterned papers
2. The shoe stamp which is from Creative Expressions and called Sole Creations I stamped onto a piece of white square card, coloured with my Copic's and matted onto the card.
3. I stamped the sentiment onto white card with Memento ink and coloured the card with Copic Sketch Eggplant.
4. Stamped 3 butterflies and added them down one side, 4 clear gems on the four corners of the shoe topper.
5. To finish off I made a double bow and added a flower gem.

Gelli Plate background Fairy Card

WOW had a fabulous day with my crafty buddy Kath.  We spent the morning making lots of lovely backgrounds with our Gelli Plates.  We sure got mucky paws LOL!  I love the background I have made and even used Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium on it too, it works a treat!  You will be seeing a lot of cards over the coming weeks with the background created with my Gelli Plate.

Tonight I have made a card using one of the backgrounds.


Recipe

1. Stamp shaped card from Hunkydory which I have matted and layered at an angle purple paper which I have distressed the edges with Dusty Concord.
2. The background I have used purple acrylic paint and added a flourish, once this was dry I added blue acrylic paint to the Gelli plate and pressed the Heart Flourish Stencil from Imagination Crafts which I then put onto the background.  I then used Dusty Concord over this, then layered this onto the purple card.
3 Using Archival black ink I stamped the fairy and leaves both from Lavinia onto the background.
4. I added 3 flowers and a butterfly which have been distressed with Lilac shade added pearls to the centres of the flowers, butterfly and the two corners.

It's a Girl

I am off to see Kath today for our crafty play day.  Today will be the last for a few weeks as Kath is away next week and then I am on my holidays for a couple of weeks.  We will I believe be playing with our Gelli plates, so that will be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recipe

1. 6 x 6 silver pearlescent square card
2. Backing paper has been in my stash for ages! I added a strip of pink ribbon down the side
3. I cut out a circle and distressed with PanPastels then decoupaged the cute Forever Friends teddy 
4. The sentiment is from my stash.
5. To finish off I have added 3 heart buttons.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

What a dull miserable day it has been today... I hope you have all managed to stay warm as it sure has gotten rather chilly.  Oh how I hate the cold!  Lots of crafty work done today but I can't show you as I am preparing for my demonstrations at the Happy Stampers in Port Sunlight where I will be demoing for Imagination Crafts.  If you do go please pop by and say Hi.

Here is a Christmas card I made using Hunkydory Christmas Art Deco Kit.  I am not one for kits really but I do love the Art Deco period and had to have this one.  No doubt you will be seeing more of these over the coming weeks.


Recipe

1. A5 white card which I have matted and layered the red and black card from the Kit
2. The topper can be used as a stand alone card but I have layered this and added foam tape to the side to add dimension.
3. I have added a red feather to her headdress and a black pearl flourish.
4. The sentiment is also from the Kit
