Knitting for Beginners

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Something a little different from me today!

I wonder how many of my crafty friends knit or have knitted in the past?

I have been knitting since I was 5 years old when my dad taught me. I can still remember that day, we were living in Malaysia and living at 69 Bloxhom Drive in a bungalow.  Isn't if funny how something that will make a difference in your life you can remember years after!

Today I am starting a new series on my You Tube channel called
Knitting for Beginners.

In the first video I talk you though the tools of the trade, i.e. knitting needles and assessories as well as tension square before I start teaching you how to cast on and knit 2 rows in stocking stitch.

I hope you enjoy, this is something apart from my paper/mixed media crafting I am very passionate about.

Many thanks for visiting and watching!
Happy Crafting/Knitting 😊

Brilliant! Looking forward to following these videos (is that what you call them) Linda. Really want to start to knit. My Mum showed me how to cast on with needles years ago and I had forgotten and have been trying to work it out so a huge thank you.

I don't remember when I learn't to knit, or who in the family taught me. I do know I could knit as a child and was knitting jumpers for myself with cable and other patterns in them when I was in my teens. Now I can't knit so much as it hurts my arms and I find it so frustrating when things take way too long because I have to stop after a short time. The knitting I've done lately has been on a knitting loom as the weight can be on a table or arms of a chair. But still got knitting needles around the house as one of the nephews likes to knit.
