Becky's Birthday Blog Hop

If you have hopped here from Cher you are going in the right direction.  In celebration of Becky's birthday she is having a blog hop.  I hope you will hop along to all those taking part and leave your comments and wish Becky a very Happy Birthday.

Here is my card I made especially for Becky.

I have used the Wild Cherry Fairy from Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD.  The backing paper is printed onto pearlescent card which I have cut out using my Grand Calibur and Spellbinders Circle Die.  The second layer is white card cut out using the scalloped circle to imitate the shape of the card to which I have distressed using Dew Drops Brilliance Ink Sky Blue which gives it a lovely glimmer.  The flower fairy has be decoupaged and then sprayed with Spray and Sparkle Iridescent spray.  The leaf and the flower are from one of the element sheets on the CD.  The bow, greeting and gem are from my crafty Stash.

To carry on with the blog hop you need to hop on over to Misty enjoy the rest of the hop.

Creations by Gill M Challenge

Morning All

Today over at Creations by Gill M we have our new fortnightly challenge starting.  The challenge is "anything that flies".  This could be birds or beasties, air transport methods, myth & magic or anything that can fly.   It is entirely up to you what you decide to do.  So please hop on over and see what the design team have come up with for this challenge to give you some inspiration.

This is my first design for Gill since I became a member of her design team.

I chose an aeroplane for this challenge.  I have made an easel card which is one of my favourite type of cards.  For the first layer I have used Navy Blue pearlescent card stock and using My Craft Studio Papercraft Library Men-y Happy Returns CD I have printed off the sky with some clouds which I then layered over the base card.  The aeroplane decoupage I have had for a while and I have layered this up omitting the 3rd layer which I have attached to a piece of acetate to give the illusion of another aeroplane coming into land.  The birds are stamped using Stazon ink.  The stamp is from Sheena Douglass' Nature Accomplished set.

I look forward to see what you all decide to come up with.  Please leave a comment as I really do enjoy reading what you have to say about my work.

Thank you for stopping by

Dude Time Doodles Inspiration Challenge

Hi Everyone

Over at Dude Time Doodles it is that time of the month for our Inspiration Challenge.  Below is a colour chart to inspire you and the theme is "make it sporty".

For my inspiration I have used Dale Isenhardt and his happy triumph at winning the Grand Prix :)

I have used a stepper card for my main card in a lovely pearlescent red.  The Flag I have used My Craft Studio graphics programme showing the finishing flag.  His medal with his name in the right hand corner and the racing card are from My Craft Studio Papercraft Library Men-y Happy Return CD.  The stepper have been decorated with paper from my stash and the trophy is a peel-off placed onto iridescent mirri card.

For the topper I have distressed using Dew Drop Versamark Chalk ink in Sky Blue and Jumbo Java.  Using my Sakura Glitter Pens, I have coloured the ticker tape, trophy and Champagne bottle.  I have highlighted the Champagne flow and droplets on the ground with my 3D clear gloss finish.  To colour Dale in I have used my trusty watercolour pencils.

I hope you have enjoyed your stop over and visit my Dudette colleagues on their own interpretations.

My Very Own Piece of Crafty Heaven

Good Morning All

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  Today I thought I would show you around my very own little piece of crafty heaven.  This is my santuary and my work space.  I have had my own craft room for about 3 years and I spend nearly all my time in hear working away on my blog for the various design teams I am on an also doing samples for various companies.

As you will see I am a very organised crafter and everything is labelled and I know where everything is and what I have got which is important and saves valuable time when looking for that extra something when I am crafting.  The cupboard doors I have Paint Fusioned with blackberries and sweet peas.  This was indeed a labour of love and I am a Fusioneer and love it.  You will see my A3 printer which is my new baby, the Grand Calibur which I would be lost without and of course my laptop.

In this photo you will see the lovely box that I won earlier this year from Sheena and is my most treasured crafting possession.  The walls behind the desk have 2 cork boards with which I have all the information I need for birthdays, blog hops and the one above my lap top showcase all the cards I have received from C & C over the years from being picked out of the "spotty potty".  I have two Ottlites and love them equally, couldn't do without them both during the day and evening.

I don't know where I would be without my shelves and cabinets there is an assortment of lovely embellishments my Martha Stewart Punches, one of my cutters hanging on the wall and you can just see my eCraft which is another favourite toy.

The last two photographs are showing the shelves and the filing cabinets underneath.  You can see I have a few CD's and this is by no means all of them.  I have had to put quite a few of them away filling 2 boxes and they were taking up valuable space and are now in the bedding box by my desk in the corner so if I need them then I I have easy access.  All the CD's I have put away are from My Craft Studio.  I hope you have enjoyed your tour around my room.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

Birthday Card for a Special Friend

I have made this card for a very special friend's birthday.  We have been friends for quite a few years now and she just loves her fairies.

The Rose Fairy I have stamped and coloured in using my Spectrum Noir pens.  This is my second project using these pens and I just love them.  I have masked the wings and sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridescent spary and then distressed around the edges with spun sugar.  I have made a border using Martha Stewart Ribbon border punch and threaded ribbon through and made a bow.  I have added rosebuds to the corner by first binding them together with ribbon and adding a bow.  I love using ribbons and flowers on my cards.  The swirl and gems are from my stash.  On the deeper pink I have attached a beautiful organza sheet which I bought from HobbyFun they have a real variety of these organza sheets in A4 size.

The verse I have printed off from the Flower Fairies CD and reads:
Thank you for your friendship true,
for being there and being you,
for your heart so good and kind,
a truer friend I could not find.
Happy Birthday

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Divas by Designs - Birthday
Jellypark - Favourite Embellishments
Whimsy Stamps - Ribbons and Bows

Easel Card

Good Morning

This easel card I have made using MCS Papercraft Library Volume 5 Faith, Hope and Charity CD.  I have printed the backing paper onto photo paper and matted and layered onto some Old Gold pearlescent card stock.  Using the graphics programme I have taken a topper and inserted the image of Charity onto the topper then matted and layered this onto the same pearlescent card as the backing paper.  The greeting has been added and placed onto one of the pendants.  The stopper which helps the card to stand proud I have used the stitch border and the buttons are from my ever increasing button stash.  To finish off I have had small pearl gems to the topper and the pendant.

Freebie Sketch Over at Dude Time Doodles

The Freebie is Gavin Ghost and he sure is spooky.

The card consists of backing paper from My Craft Studio (MCS) Victorian Follies and is the picture of a house from that era.  I have used Distress Ink Antique Linen around the edges.  Using the Graphics programme MCS I have typed the sentiment and cut out using my Grand Calibur and again gave it a distressed look.  The word Spooky I have cut out using my eCraft machine from Crafter's Companion.
Gavin has been coloured in using my Spectrum Noir pens (first time I have used these pens) they are fabulous he has then been cut out and distressed around the edges.

Don't forget to hop on over to Dude Time Doodles and check out other Design Team Member's designs using Gavin.

Stamps R Us Challenge Blog

Through visiting a couple of my colleagues blogs I came across Stamps R Us Challenge Blog.  This challenge this month is "Encore Presentations" and here is how it works. You re post one of your favorite cards using any stamp or digital image you please, write up a  little about your card and enter into their challenge.    There must be no back linking. The winner of their "Encore Presentation" challenge will be asked to be a guest designer for a future challenge!

So for my entry I have decided to enter this card which was my 6th posting since starting my blog on 5th May 2011.

I took a white 8 x 8 Pearlescent card and using this lovely die from Go Kraft I cut out using my Grand Calibur onto pink mirri card.  I then cut out the circle in pink pearlescent card.  The sweet peas are from Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion range of stamps.  I took a circular piece of mount board and gave it a shabby chic look by painting purple paint as a first layer, then coated this over with PVA glue and once this was dry painted over with magnolia matt emulsion which gave it the crackle.  I stamped the leaves and sweet peas and using Acrylic paints I then painted them.  Using Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridenscent I sprayed to give it some added sparkle.  To finish the card off I used some gems and a butterfly from my stash along with a couple of greetings.

Thank you for stopping by please leave a comment as I do so enjoy your thoughts

Sketch Challenge at Dude Time Doodles

Hi everyone, it is the first Wednesday of the month and it is Sketch Challenge time at Dude Time Doodles.  Below is the sketch for this challenge.

For my sketch challenge I have decided to use Trixie Pixie.

This is my first Christmas card for this year.  For Trixie I have used an 8 x 8 pearlescent white base card.  I have used Silver Mirri card as the first layer and then the four strips are red card stock cut into equal sized strips and placed vertically.  The backing paper on the red card I have taken from My Craft Studio Paper Library Winter Whimsies.  There are some really gorgeous designs on this CD.
Trixie is on white card which I have cut out using my Spellbinders scalloped oval die.  I have used my watercolour pencils to colour her in and for her hat I have used my Woodware "Fluffy Stuff" to give it dimension.  I have used my chalks in pale green on the white of the card and embossed in Red around the edges.  The snowflakes are from my crafty stash.  I have printed the greeting off using My Craft Studio CD.

It is now over to you to show us what you can create using the sketch.  Good luck and I hope you enjoy the challenge.  Don't forget to leave a comment and visit the other Dudettes to see what they have done.

Vintage Heartfelt Designs Vintage Beach Theme Blog Hop

Hi All

Today over at Vintage Heartfelt Designs it is the start of our Vintage Beach Theme Blog Hop.  Below is my interpretation of this.

These two victorian ladies are just arriving at the bathing huts to change to enjoy the sun, sea and the beach.

I have made this cards using a Hunkydory backing sheet which I scanned into my computer then using my My Craft Studio Graphic's programme added the ladies and printed out then distressed around the page using Antique Linen.  I have decoupaged the ladies and the shells which I have distressed them using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen just to make them look more weathered.  The sandy part of the beach I have used Flowersoft fine in Sand and the sea I have used 3D Clear Gloss finish just to give the sea some dimension.  To finish of the card I have taken a little label and written "Life is a Beach" firstly distressing with the above ink and using my Sakura pen to write the sentiment.  I then stamped some birds in the background and using some card candy in Ivory from my stash to decorate.

I hope you have enjoyed my little soiree into vintage beach and visit Vintage Heartfelt Designs as Dee is offering a bag of blog candy.  Visit all the Design Teams Blogs and leave a comment and become a follower of each DT's blog to be in with the chance of winning this fab prize.
