This month sure has been an eventful one and I was so delighted to reach 1 million blog views.

Thank you all so much for supporting my blog these past 8 years and love reading your comments about my work.

I have enjoyed flicking back through the years to see how my crafting has progressed and I am quite surprised at myself.  I often think I a piece I have created isn't as good as I expected but your comments have always put me in my place so to speak so thank you!

The Meadow

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

WOW the end of July already, I don't know about you but I think this month has flown by!

Shopping this morning and then off to Dads to take him to look for new carpets.

Today sharing a new card using Sheena's liquid pigments and having a go at creating a meadow as show by Sheena at Crafting Live, not perfect but would be good if I got the right salt! LOL


Step by Step

1. 8 x 8 white square card.
2. Matted and layered Willow black card and Sheena's off the page card in green.
3. Cut a piece of Willow white card and created the background with liquid pigments.
4. Painted the clouds with Gouache and added the white to the heather.
5. To finish off painted in some birds.

Crochet Giveaway

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

I hope you are all well and have had a brilliant weekend.

My friend Kath and I have set up a knitting and crochet group on Facebook.

Today I am sharing a Giveaway over on my You Tube Channel which 2 lucky winners will each receive a pattern, crochet hook and 2 balls of crochet cotton.



In 2014 I made a couple of flowers and shared the pattern, I promised on the video that I would share the link to the post but decided to add the pattern to this blog post.


Here is the pattern.

 Using Crochet hook 2.00 mm and cotton make a chain of 6 stitches then form a ring with ss (slip stitch)
 First Round -1 chain (doesnt count as a st) 16 dc (double crochet)into ring, ss to first dc.
 Second Round -  4 chain (counts as dc and 2 ch) miss first 2 dc *1 dc into next dc, 2ch miss 1 dc, rep from * to end, ss to 2nd of 4 ch at beginning of round. (you should have 8 chain spaces.
 Third Round - (1ss, 1ch, 5 dc, 1 ch, 1ss) into each chain space to end, you should have 8 petals.
Fourth Round - 1 ch (doesn't count as a st), working behind petals of previous round: 1 dc around stem of first "dc" of 2nd round, *3 ch, 1 dc raound stem of next dc of 2nd round, repeat from * 6 more times, 2 ch, 1 dc into first dc. 8 chain spaces.
Fifth Round - (1 ss, 1 ch, 5 treble, 1 ch and 1 ss) into each chain spaces to the end. 8 petals, fasten off yarn.

With Love

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Where did the weekend go?

A busy week ahead but first this morning I have the dentist, not looking forward to that!
Finger's crossed all goes well.

What are your plans for today? When I get home I plan to do some more colouring, yesterday was a funny day in that I didn't manage to get done everything I wanted to do, time just slipped away. I hope that today is better.

Today's card is made using stash from my craft room.


Step by Step

1. 6 x 6 cream square base card.
2. Matted and layered gold mirri card and musical paper.
3. Wrapped cream ribbon around both layers before adhering to base card.
4. Added topper using foam pads for dimension.
5. To finish off made a double bow, added the trumpet metal embellishment and pearl gem to centre of bow.

More Good News

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

Some more exciting news to share with you today.

Did you manage to catch the Deramores Knitting and Crochet show on Create and Craft this morning?

I am so chuffed that I was asked by Sue to become part of their knitting sample maker team.

As you know I have been knitting for over 50 years now and still enjoy it today as I did when I started at the age of 5.

Below are just a few of my samples, I part knitted some of the Deradogs which were so easy to knit, a cushion cover and some sample squares with the chunky yarn.

I must say that the yarn is so soft and beautiful to use too.

The Peacock

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

I had a good day yesterday, managed to get a few Christmas cards made.

Today I am going to be colouring using my Copics, some quiet me time, not video making this weekend just for a change.  I think it is good to have a change every now and again.

Today sharing with you an Acrylic Pour on canvas I made using Cadence Hybrid metallic paints and using the bird and feather stamp from Sheena's Christmas stamp set.


Step by Step

1. 6 x 6 box canvas which I have used Cadence Turquoise, Silver and Ice Pearl to make the acrylic pour.
2. Stamped and embossed the feathers and bird then coloured with Sheena's Liquid Pigments.
3. Fussy cut them all out then gave them a wash with watered down Ice Pearl.
4. To finish arranged them on the canvas.

Man about Town

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

WOW it sure was a hot day yesterday, hope you are all okay!
Had a good sort out of my wardrobes yesterday and a bit of rearranging of the shelves in my craft room too.

Today washing, housework to do and hoping to get in the craft room and make some cards.

A male card using items from my stash.


Step by Step

1. 6 x 6 square scalloped white base card.
2. Matted and layered brown card and patterned paper.
3. Distressed the topper with DI vintage photo and adhered to sprocket frame.
4. Die cut the car with green card.
5. To finish off added 3 green Card Candi.

It was a very hot day yesterday and today it appears that it will be even warmer,

Today sharing with you a new card using topper from Hunkydory Flight of the Butterflies.


Step by Step

1. 7 x 7 white square base card.
2. Matted and layered green and corrugated card.
3. Across the centre of the card added hessian and lace trim.
4. Adhered the topper with foam pads, cut out around the large butterfly.
5. To finish off added the sentiment and green pearl gems.

Crafty Creations Challenge #395

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

It is Wednesday and that means a new challenge starts today over at Crafty Creations. As always the theme is Anything Goes.

For my DT project I have used Fairy Bella

To colour the image I have used the following Copics:

Skin - E40, E41, E42, E43, R01
Hair - YR20, YR21, YR24
Wings - G0000, G00, YG0000, YG00
Dress/Shoes - YG01, YG03, YG67
Stars/Polkadots - Spica Pen Yellow


Step By Step

1. 5 x 7 white scalloped edge base card.
2. Matted and layered yellow and floral card.
3. Printed image and coloured with above Copics then matted and layered onto green card.
4. Added ribbon and pearl trim.
5. To finish off added pearl gems to corners and lace butterfly.

Sparkle

Sue Baker Presents... Snow Queen

Today I am sharing with you another card and mixed media canvas!

On this canvas I have used Sparkle Medium, Stencils, dies and paints.


For this card I have used Rice Paper, Stamps and coloured the owl with the new paints and the image with my Copics.

Sue Baker Presents Snow Queen

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

I am so excited that I can now announce after months of keeping quiet that I am privileged and honoured to be part of Sue Baker Presents Design Team.

Myself along with other design team members have had the opportunity to work with some amazing new products and designs by Sarah Lou, who is an amazing artist.

In this particular collection there are stamps, dies, stencils along with brand new paints plus so much more.

Sharing just one of the many samples using stamps, dies, Sparkle Medium and the image has been coloured with my Copics.

Please join Sue for her 2 hour launch show on Monday 22nd July at 2.00 til 4.00 pm then at 9 pm, and another show on Tuesday 23rd July  at 1.00 pm, on Create & Craft.
